A well-supervised truck driver hooks up his hose to unload his fuel truck into a 20,000 gallon main tank at a data center in north Dallas. The stainless steel Preferred type 2 fill box is shown to the left.
A 620 gallon UL 2085 Preferred day tank at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. This day tank came prepackaged with a fill manifold, return pump and Preferred Nodenet controller with everything pictured pre-wired at the factory. This day tank is one of eight supplied for this project.
A 30,000 gallon main storage tank with a Preferred FA-AV fill alarm cabinet shown on the right side. Preferred supplied the transfer pumps, tank gauging, and leak detectors for the two tanks included in this project.
A Preferred Thermopump pump and heater set with two 1,932 GPH pumps and two 60 KW electric heaters capable of heating the oil by 40 degrees. The control system senses ambient air temperature. When this drops below the setpoint, a pump is energized and warm oil is circulated to the main tank and then to each belly tank individually to keep the entire fuel system topped off with warm, fresh oil.
A Preferred Thermopump system behind a 20,000 gallon main storage tank. Preferred supplied the Thermopump systems, main tank instrumentation, tank gauges, return pumps, and fuel polishers for this data center in north Dallas. Bobcat Supply likes to provide the entire fuel system through Preferred for single-source responsibility.
A natural gas-fired Preferred burner on a nitrogen vaporizer at an air separation plant outside of Corpus Christi. This atmospheric vaporizer takes liquid nitrogen and converts it to gaseous nitrogen for injection into a pipeline system providing nitrogen all along the inter-coastal waterway. Preferred provided and David Eoff started up the burner and the burner control system.
Preferred produced their first Comet burner for a food manufacturer in Dallas, installed on a 200 HP Kewanee wetback firetube boiler. It is natural gas-fired and features Preferred's FlexFit boiler control system. With this burner, the plant has been making mini tacos and taquitos since 2025.
Comet burners are extremely economical and come with the windbox/burner/fan assembly, Siemens gas train, and Preferred FlexFit controls. They are all 100% factory pre-fired so setup at the customer's facility typically takes only a couple hours.
A new 50 HP Comet burner on an old Williams and Davis firetube boiler that is still going strong after 50 years of operation at a plating facility in Dallas. This full-modulation burner replaced an on-off burner that had served this boiler for over 40 years. Although not advertised as a low excess air burner, this burner does 3.1% stack oxygen at high fire with zero carbon monoxide.
